NH Food Bank Recipe for Success

NH_Food_BankNew Hampshire Food Bank's Recipe for Success brings in the New Year with a new Culinary Job Training class.  This eight-week course is an opportunity for underemployed or unemployed individuals seeking employment in the culinary industry to learn the fundamentals of working in a commercial kitchen.  Each student takes the ServSafe Manager's Certification exam, gains experience catering events, and serves thousands of community members through registered agencies of the NH Food Bank.  What better way to give back to the community while job searching than providing food for over 400 agencies and learning technical skills?

Mark your calendars!  Cooking Matters™, a program of Share Our Strength, will be hosting an event at the New Hampshire Food Bank in March 2012 for past, present, and future volunteers interested in becoming part of the national movement to end childhood hunger.  Cooking Matters empowers families with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to prepare healthy and affordable meals.   Volunteers are the core of Cooking Matters, as they maintain roles as class chef, nutritionist, shopper, or class assistant.  This night will be a chance to learn more about the program, network with volunteers to share experiences, and get excited for upcoming classes.  For more information about Cooking Matters, contact Becca Story, Cooking Matters Coordinator, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
